Sept 10 and Sept 11: Things to do in Maplewood–Rent Party Picnic, Open Houses, Tycoon Dog and a Parade Honoring Olympian Ibtihaj Muhammad

The first weekend after Labor Day has lots to celebrate and even more to do.

There is the Rent Party Picnic in Maplecrest Park this Saturday from noon to 10pm. Live music and so much more!

And, if looking for a new home in Maplewood, then there are a good number of Open Houses in eyesight, like 6 Amherst Ct.

There is also a parade honoring Maplewood’s Olympic fencer–Ibtihaj Muhammad–which will start at 10:30 a.m. at the NJ Fencing Alliance on Burnett Avenue, and proceed through various areas of the township, while stopping several times for meet and greets and autograph sessions. You will have a chance to hear from our third place finisher as we celebrate our bronze medal winner and the first Muslim woman to compete for Team USA while wearing a hijab.

I got a call from a friend’s son that it might be time to leave Manhattan for the green pastures of New Jersey’s suburbs. He mentioned interest in about eighteen towns that fall within four counties. This can be very daunting at first, more so for the buyers at hand. Why, you can see vastly different types of homes that you can buy with the same budget. When I meet with prospective buyers, we are happy to provide a brochure for each town in question that provides an introduction to the town as well as covering schools, houses of worship and restaurants, etc.
